Our Mission

• C.H.O.I.C.E.S.(Choosing Healthy Outcomes In Cultivating Essential Skills)YOUTH EMPOWERMENT PROGRAM© is designed to help empower youth and teens 8 to 19 years of age to achieve their optimum levels of success academically, emotionally, socially and physically through helping them to Choose Healthy Outcomes In Cultivating Essential Skills.

• The target population is at-risk youth and teens who have behavioral, emotional and/or academic challenges that interfere with their successful functioning at home, in school and in the community.

• Many of these individuals need to learn not only what socially acceptable behavior is but how they can attain it, maintain it, and identify which skills will help to equip them to be successful in their everyday life situations. 

• We believe that it is important for young people to have good morals, sound values and spiritual underpinnings; however, we do not discriminate against any individual because of their religious affiliation, race, cultural identification, creed or socio-economic status.

• With guidance from our professionally trained staff of therapists, counselors, behavioral aides and volunteers, we equip and train youth and teens to make healthy choices by providing them with information and resources which help them to be aware of pitfalls that may block their success.                                                      

Purpose

• One of our fundamental freedoms as Americans is our freedom of choice. However, many disadvantaged individuals lack the necessary insight, opportunity, skills and resources to make healthy choices for themselves and their families.

• C.H.O.I.C.E.S. Youth Empowerment Program© is designed to help empower youth, teenagers and families by equipping them with the necessary skills to make healthy life choices utilizing its holistic curriculum.

Goals

• Though its holistic approach, C.H.O.I.C.E.S. (Choosing Healthy Outcomes In Cultivating Essential Skills) Youth Empowerment Program©’s goal is to help abused, at risk and disadvantaged youth and teens to “choose to succeed” and desire to become more proficient in their personal, educational and social skills and to achieve emotional and economic stability as they learn to make healthy life choices.

• The program is designed to increase the youth’s and teens’ abilities to maintain healthier personal relationships, develop good educational and personal management skills, elevate their sense of worth, confidence and their overall sense of social functioning.

• When at risk and disadvantaged youth and teens are empowered to make healthier choices before they become mature adults, they will stand a better chance of developing more proficient life management skills, and maintain higher levels of emotional, spiritual and social functioning. Thereby, increasing their chances to achieve and sustain a better quality of life for themselves, their families and ultimately their communities.
